moonbase.be does not place cookies, tracking pixels or advertising identifiers on your device. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to — not because we hid it.
2. How we measure site usage instead
We use Umami, a privacy-first analytics tool, self-hosted on our own EU infrastructure. It works without cookies and without any cross-site tracking:
- No cookies or persistent identifiers are stored on your device.
- No personal data is collected — measurements are aggregated and anonymised (pages viewed, referrer, browser type, country).
- IP addresses are not stored.
- All data stays on Moonbase-managed servers in the EU — no third-party analytics providers, no data transfers outside the EU.
We process this aggregated, non-personal usage data on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in understanding and improving our website. Because no information is stored on or read from your device, the ePrivacy consent requirement does not apply. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
3. Local storage used by our applications
The Moonbase Portal (portal.moonbase.be) — the logged-in customer application — uses strictly necessary browser storage for authentication sessions. That is essential functionality for a service you explicitly sign in to, and involves no tracking.
4. If this ever changes
Should we ever introduce technology that requires consent (for example a marketing pixel), we will add a consent banner before it ships and update this policy. Honest statuses are how we work — on delivery and on privacy alike.
